[tps_footer]It could be a long shot but we have a distinct feeling there are lot of resemblance between Happy New Year and Now You See Me, a Hollywood heist film. Yes we agree many would take offence to that, especially Shah Rukh Khan fans but we just couldn’t shrug off the déjà vu feeling. Here are the plots of both the film and why we feel there could be some co-relation.
Now You See Me is a tale of a bunch of magicians who are supported by an unknown benefactor. They make a huge living by doing shows at various places and for the finale, they decide to rob a bank. A lot of teleporting and tricky magic tricks later, the bank gets robbed for real kickstarting an investigation that opens up a lot of secrets.
Now coming to Happy New Year, it is a heist film as well. Shah Rukh Khan apparently plays the mastermind Charlie who assembles a stellar team of five more people with different abilities to pull off a heist of the century. There is a bank robbery being executed here too in the pretext of a dance show. Given the way the film has been written, there could be major similarities between the two.
