MUMBAI: Seems like Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is already planning for the future. Post the debacle that was his last film, ‘Policegiri’, Sanju baba aka Sanjay Dutt is taking no chances with his Bollywood career, and has reportedly signed on Prabhu Deva to direct his comeback film.
Dutt, who is in prison for his involvement in the 1993 Bombay blasts case, has made grand plans for his comeback to celluloid, when he will come out of jail in three and a half years. On 3 July, when Dutt’s wife Manyata went to meet him in Yerwada prison, it was jointly decided by the couple that Prabhu Deva (of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ fame) would be best suited to helm his comeback film.
Ever since Dutt was awarded a jail term, the family had been concerned for his career and the future of his production house. Sanjay and Manyata even reportedly reached out to Bollywood biggies like Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan, soliciting their advice.
Said a source close to Dutt: “Sanjay would like to make a big comeback. And Prabhu Dheva is a good bet.”
After returning to Mumbai, Manyata approached Prabhu Deva, who has reportedly agreed to wield the director’s megaphone for Dutt’s comeback film.
According to sources, Manyata will work towards finalising the nitty-gritties, while Prabhu will be busy with an Ajay Devgn starrer, which is to go on floors from early next year.
