The gorgeous fashionista, known more for her sartorial choices than her films, is slowly upping her Bollywood game. In the recent past, Sonam has given back-to-back hits in Raanjhnaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, both of which were blockbuster successes. She is slowly but surely carving a niche for herself in Bollywood, and one hears that her next film might just seal the deal.
It had been learnt that Sonam was signed on to play the female lead opposite the Dabangg Salman Khan, in Sooraj Barjatya’s next. The young actress is obviously pleased to be sharing screen space with the Tiger of Bollywood aka Salman bhai.
Interestingly, Sonam had shared the frame with Salman in her debut film, way back in 2007, when she played the Indian Nastenka in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s adaptation of White Nights – Saawariya. Salman Khan had a cameo appearance in that film, which also marked the debut of Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor.
Said Sonam, of her co-star Salman Khan: “He is hot. It’s double dhamaal with Salman since he is in double role. I am super excited to work with him. I am not allowed to talk about it. You will see. He is looking good in the film!”
Sonam also spoke about her next, Dolly ki Doli, in which she will be seen attempting something completely unique: “It’s interesting. I hope people can digest it because we are trying to do something different. Doing things different is always scary.”
