MUMBAI: Late Ghazal maestro and the man with velvety smooth vocals- Jagjit Singh was honoured recently with a tribute concert in the city. And we spotted ghazal lovers Kajol, Tanisha and Tanuja Mukherjee enjoying the concert.

Kajol looked ethereal, and quite the lovely typical Indian daughter in a Manish Malhotra-esque pale gold net sari and a contrasting green blouse. Her sister Tanisha chose an off- white anarkali outfit, while mom Tanuja kept it simple in a blue salwar kameez that was stylish yet age appropriate. The ladies were seen revelling in the tribute concert organised for the legendary ghazal singer by his loving wife Chitra Singh. Kajol even lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the concert.

In other news, even Google has paid tribute to Jagjit Singh, by launching a google doodle on the maestro’s 72nd birthday. The doodle sees him sitting in his trademark pose with a harmonium across his lap. The ghazal singer is most famous for hit songs like ‘Woh Kaagaz Ke Tukde’ and ‘Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe Ho’.

For the tribute show, Chitra Singh was adamant in following her late husband’s wishes to promote new talent. Says the lady: “My husband always promoted new artistes… He gave them opportunities, introduced them to the public. So I decided to continue what he started and make his dream come true.” Hence, in accordance with Jagjit Singh’s wishes, the show witnessed performances by three young artistes. Also, Grammy award winner Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt, and singers Ghansham Vaswani and Jaswant Singh performed at the concert.
