MUMBAI: Bollywood Actress Konkona Sen Sharma was spotted shooting on the sets of ‘Ek Thi Naayika’ The actress was wearing a pale green cotton kurti and light blue jeans and her hair was loosely plaited.

Said the actress, “I am doing a cameo in ‘Ek Thi Naayika’ for the film ‘Ek Thi Daayan’. It’s a sequence where I’m talking to the main character played by Mouli, so we’re just shooting that today.”

‘Ek Thi Naayika’ is a TV serial started to promote ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ produced by Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj. The mini-series was aired on the channel ‘Life OK’ and starred some of the top actresses of Indian Television from Ekta Kapoor’s shows, including Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar, Shweta Tiwari, Aamna Shariff, Mouli Ganguly, Ankita Lokhande, Kritika Kamra, and Pooja Gaur.

On asking about what she thinks about ‘Ek Thi Naayika, the versatile actress replied: “This is a very smart thing they are doing because this is the first time that a TV Serial is launched for the promotion of a film.”

“I think it’s great, because as children (in India) we have heard so many stories about ‘Daayans’ but everyone has heard different versions of these scary stories, so this is a great opportunity to remind people the mythology of the ‘Daayan’ the culture and history (behind the stories). I think it’s a great platform to accommodate all the stories,” she added.

This is the first time that the ‘Wake Up Sid’ actor will be seen in a horror film as she said: “I play a very different role in this film. I’ve never acted in a horror or supernatural film before. So, I’m very excited!”

‘Ek Thi Daayan’ starring Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi is all set to hit the theatres on 18 April 2013.
