Twitterati react to Akshay Kumar’s revolutionary ‘Padman’ trailer!
The much-anticipated trailer of Twinkle Khanna produced and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Padman’ has been unveiled! Apart from Akshay Kumar the trailer stars actresses Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
We are living in the 21st century; it’s about time that women stop shying away from menstrual bleeding and stop feeling ashamed of the same. Maybe that would happen if we start talking about female hygiene candidly. That is exactly what Akshay Kumar is set on doing this coming Republic Day, January 26, 2018!
In a country where still women cannot enter kitchens and temples while they are menstruating, ‘Padman’ is a whiff of fresh air. The movie revolves Padman who is trying to understand the plight of women. He inspires to make an eco-friendly variant of a sanitary napkin in rural India. In his journey to do so, he faces opposition from his own family and villagers. His only support is a social worker; Sonam Kapoor who encourages Padman in his quest as he sets out to make an eco-friendly sanitary napkin making machine.
Twitterati too, have given their opinions:

The trailer is being well received by the audiences. Though there are many similarities between Akshay Kumar’s upcoming flick and his previous ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. In both the movies Akshay tries to bring about a change, he faces opposition from his family and his villagers, finally succeeds in his quest and reunites with his wife. Sounds familiar, right? We hope these are the only similarities we see in the trailer and not the movie!
Comedy-social drama film— ‘Padman’ has been written and directed by R. Balakrishnan aka R. Balki. The movie is based on the social activist and inventor Arunachalam Muruganantham but it is inspired by a story in Twinkle Khanna’s book, ‘The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad’.
