MUMBAI: The shooting for Rajkumar Gupta’s upcoming comedy film ‘Ghanchakkar’ has culminated, and it was more than enough reason for the film’s cast to throw a lavish party. Spotted at this fabulous do were Vidya Balan nee Vidya Balan Roy Kapur and her ‘kiss-ready’ co-star Emraan Hashmi.
The cast and crew of the film enjoyed director Rajkumar Gupta’s hospitality, when the filmmaker impulsively decided to throw a grand bash to commemorate the successful completion of shooting. At the wrap party, Vidya entered the venue in a gloriously aubergine coloured floor length tiered anarkali kurta. We can almost safely assume this outfit to be a Sabyasachi creation, for the talented actress is never seen in any other designer’s clothes.
In contrast, her co-star Emraan kept it casual and understated in an all-denim ensemble: a dark blue denim shirt and a lighter hued denim jeans. Quite an interesting style statement! Also present at the soiree was Vidya Balan’s husband; UTV head honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur. He seemed to have taken style tips from Emraan over his lovely wife though!
Rajkumar Gupta, known for his serious cinema (‘No One Killed Jessica’) is all set to foray into comedy with ‘Ghanchakkar’. The film is scheduled to release on 21 June 2013, and promotions will now start in earnest, since the shooting has been completed. Hopefully this film manages to get Vidya the type of critical acclaim and accolades she’s now used to. It wouldn’t hurt if Vidya were to pick up a couple of awards for ‘Ghanchakkar’ either. And knowing her recent streak at awards seasons these past few years, she most certainly will!
