Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra have landed into trouble over a cheating case. The couple along with three others is facing a case of duping an export firm owner of Rs 24 lakh.
Goregaon resident Ravi Mohanlal Bhalotia, 60, who has filed the complaint, met the actress, her husband, and the other directors Durshit Indravan Shah, Uday Kothari and Vedant Bali for an online shopping deal some two years ago. The Complainant states that Shilpa Shetty Kundra and other directors of the Best Deal bought bedsheets worth Rs 1.5 crore from him in 2015 and for which they paid Rs1.44 crore in January 2016.
After the couple was sent a legal notice, they slapped a defamation notice for Rs.100 crore on Bhalotia who publicly called the celebrity couple a cheat and tried to malign their reputation for extra media coverage.
Raj Kundra’s spokesperson had said, “Raj Kundra & Shilpa Shetty Kundra have slapped a defamation notice for Rs.100 crore on Ravi Mohanlal Bhalotia. A quashing petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court as they have tight contracts signed and have been responsibly following the laws of the land”.
Now according to the recent update on the case, the export firm owner Ravi Bhalotia alleged that Kundra threatened his client right inside the courtroom. As reported by HT, Bhalotia’s counsel Vishal Bhanushali said Kundra threatened his client inside the court saying that he “would recover Rs 100 crore from him (Bhalotia).”
The judge sought an undertaking from all the five accused of not indulging in such behaviour again. The court has made it sure that they don’t threaten Bhalotia again. However, advocate Bhanushali will file a police complaint in this matter. The whole drama unfolded inside the courtroom where many lawyers and others thronged to catch a glimpse of Shilpa Shetty.
