I Will Never Beg For Roles Even If That Means Less Work: Ileana D’Cruz

Actress Ileana D’cruz, who has worked predominantly in Telugu movies, had entered Bollywood with the critically acclaimed film Anurag Basu’s Barfi! also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.

Since then she has done Bollywood films like Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, Main Tera Hero, Happy Ending and Rustom alongside big names of Bollywood like Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and Govinda.

But this 28-year-old actress has been extremely picky about the kind of films she does. She says she would never beg for movie, even if that means not having a lot of work.

“I have been lucky to be in the Bollywood industry but it’s all about opportunity here. If you do get an opportunity, it’s up to you whether you take it or not. If you are good, you sustain, and if you are not you end your career,” Ileana said.

Talking about maintaining her dignity and doing some good cinema, she said, “But I think I have done pretty well for myself and I can say that with a lot of pride. I am who I am today because of my hard work and I haven’t asked for favours from anyone. I will never beg for roles as I have my dignity.”

The roles portrayed by her on-screen have given her the brand of a girl next door. But in real life she is pretty straightforward and talks her mind.

“I have always been brutally blunt but I have been caught into the social media scene recently. I think people will see a more frank side of me because it’s coming directly from me. I like it because I want people to understand what they see on screen is a character. What I am is you are going to see on social media,” said Ileana who is excited about her upcoming releases like Mubaraka and Baadshaho.

“They misunderstand me so many times but it’s part of life,” she concluded.
