Box Office: Akshay Kumar’s Singh Is Bliing First Weekend Collection

Singh-is-Bling-BoxAkshay Kumar starrer ‘Singh Is Bliing’ was off to a good start on its Friday release. The film has gained massive response from the Northern region where the genre of comedy is always highly appreciated. After a good start, the film has managed to collect Rs. 45 crores net approx (450 million) on its first weekend. ‘Singh Is Bliing’ is expected to touch the 100 crore mark but it is too soon to say anything for certain. The film will have to perform well today on Monday as well to keep its pull intact.

Singh Is Bliing’ has performed well in regions of Central India as well as Delhi, UP, East Punjab and Rajasthan. The film however did not work wonders in South regions like Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Due to the added advantage of public holiday on Gandhi Jayanti, the film has collected an impressive amount of Rs. 18 crores net approx (180 million) on its first day itself.

On its second day, Singh Is Bliing’s collections set to be around Rs 12.75 crore net (127 million). The drop is 30% from the first day which is normal but the film needed to hold a bit better as the first day holiday did not push through in many circuits. the total is two days is Rs 30.75 crore (307 million) net approx. On Sunday the film collected Rs. 14.50 crores net approx (145 million) making a total of Rs. 45 crores net approx (450 million). Now we wait to see if Akshay Kumar sets a record by giving back to back 100 crore club films.

Singh Is Bliing’ sees Akshay Kumar playing the role of Raftaar Singh in the film. With the backdrop of Punjab, the movie is a concoction of comedy, emotions and action. Actress Amy Jackson plays the leading lady in the film who looks confident in her hard hitting image. Actress Lara Dutta is making a comeback with Akshay Kumar in the film, and audiences are welcoming her back on the big screen. The film also stars rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and Raajpal Yadav in pivotal roles.
