MUMBAI: Anurag Basu’s latest offering ‘Barfi!’ starring the trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and South siren Ileana D’cruz – has been loved by cinegoers on it’s very first day.
A film which recounts the bittersweet love triangle between a deaf-mute character, an autistic girl and an emotionally torn woman – ‘Barfi!’ definitely defies all stereotypes, and is clearly not made keeping in mind the Box Office performance or profitable aspects.
Nevertheless, it has been lapped up by the cinegoers this Friday, like a breath of fresh air. With glowing reviews by critics, the opening surpassed 90% occupancy.
Word of mouth for the film is very strong, and the estimated early opening figures have surprised the film industry.
As per early estimates ‘Barfi!’ has collected in the range of Rs 10 crore (100 million) net on Friday.
