The first day collection of the Sonakshi starrer was Rs. 4 crore net approx. The earnings were very low. Akira struggled on Saturday with hardly any growth, the film collected Rs 5.10 crore net approx. The total collection is Rs 9.10 crore net approx.

Due to limited promotional activities and lack of popular tunes, the Murugadoss directorial failed to create magic on the single screens. The film is solely dependent on good reviews and word of mouth publicity. The other Bollywood releases like Sunshine Music Tours and Travels, Dark Chocolate etc. have no substantial results at the box office. The collections of Akira will depend on Sunday wherein most films garner good earnings.
