Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty starrer ‘Hero’ that hit theatres on September 11, 2015, managed a decent collection on its first day, but fell flat on Saturday. The film that was the talk of the town due to its well strategized promotional activities, has collected Rs 6.50 crore net on day one. Which is an above decent earnings given the film has newcomers.
‘Hero’ was flat on day two with business likely to be around Rs 6.25 crore (Rs 62.5 million) net. The overall business in two days of nearly 12.75 crore (Rs 127.5 million) nett is decent, but the failure to grow on Saturday may make it tough in the long run. Today being a Sunday, the film should get a total over Rs 20 crore net.
Given the tremendous support given by actor Salman Khan, it isn’t a surprise that the film has managed to gain a good collection on its first day. Although, the collections on Saturday fell flat.
Produced by Salman Khan, ‘Hero’ has been directed by Nikhil Advani. It is a remake of Subhash Ghai’s directed 1983 film of the same name, which starred Jackie Shroff. The film is a love story between a Gangster who kidnaps a rich girl who is the daughter of a police officer. We are now looking forward to see Hero’s first weekend collection.
