From Hollywood to Bollywood to Regional Cinema Fox Star Studios is all set to roll about twenty eight films in the coming year, thus making it the highest ever for any studio in India.
Started in 2008, Fox Star Studios is looking at releasing about nine Bollywood films, about four Tamil films and about fifteen Hollywood films in the coming year, thus 2014 would be its busiest year ever since its inception.
Fox Star Studios is knitting its alliances factoring in the individual strengths of these leading filmmakers and production houses, viz., a three film deal with Vishesh Films, a film with Amole Gupte, alliances with Pooja Entertainment and Films Ltd, Phantom Films, Illuminati Films and Endemol India.
In Tamil, the studio has partnered with CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment with two films – V. Chitram and Mundasupatti and Cukkoo with Next Big Films. The studio is also partnering with Atlee Kumar once more. Atlee recently delivered a blockbuster for Fox Star Studios, Raja Rani.
Coming to its Hollywood line up, the studio plans to roll out as many as fifteen films including some major titles like Dawn Of The Planet Apes, The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, The Book Thief, Rio 2, How To Train Your Dragon 2, Night At The Museum 3, etc.
“The studio is making a strong statement about scaling up and becoming a key player in the Hindi film industry as also working with diverse talent cutting across genres,” said Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios regarding the line up for 2014.
