MUMBAI: The hilarious south-style trailer of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’ was released today, in the city here.
Seen at the launch are the star himself, Shah Rukh Khan and his leading lady Deepika Padukone. We also see UTV’s Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Director Rohit Shetty.
Present at the launch, reporting live is businessofcinema’s Rahul Iyer. The cast and crew are revealing some juicy tidbits:
First off, we have learnt that Deepika Padukone’s name in the film is Meeanlochini – a truly South Indian name – to match that “Lola Kutty” accent. Speaking in her ‘Chennai Express’ accent, says Deepika, “It was challenging to play a south Indian character. It is revisiting ‘Om Shanti Om’ as SRK, Vishal Shekar combo back again.”
