NEW YORK: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently met with Oscar winning Hollywood actor Daniel Day-Lewis at the TIME magazine’s celebratory dinner, on April 23 at the Lincoln Centre here.
The “thinking superstar” Aamir Khan is believed to be a huge fan of Daniel, who has won numerous awards including three Academy Awards for Best Actor (most recently for ‘Lincoln’), and four BAFTA Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Aamir, known to be the perfectionist that he is, does a lot of preparation before taking up any role, and works hard to get into the skin of a character. So much that prior to the shoot of ‘Lagaan’ (2000), Aamir learnt Awadhi to pick up the accent spoken by his character. He is also currently learning Bhojpuri for his role in his upcoming film ‘P.K.’.
The event at the Lincoln Centre witnessed a meeting of like-minded celebrities. Aamir was included in the list of 100 Most Influential People, by the TIME magazine for his social endeavors. The gala was graced by a live performance from singer Christina Aguilera.
