Amongst other bad news and events that 2016 got with it, the one that shook the world and was most talked about across the globe was divorce announced by the hottest Hollywood couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
In December 2016, Angelina Jolie was granted full custody of all their children and Brad Pitt would continue to have visitation rights.
Angelina Jolie is a strong independent woman and she tries her level best to juggle between work and family. Her divorce with Hollywood star Brad Pitt must have left an empty space in her but she is still trying to be a good parent.
Speaking to a leading daily, the Salt star opened up about her late mother and French-American actress Marcheline Bertrand and also got emotional while talking about her split with Brad Pitt.
Talking about her late mother, the 41-year-old actress and film-maker said,
“I would give anything for her to be with me at this time. I’ve needed her. I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.”
Jolie also spoke about how her mother influenced her in parenting.
“I try to lead by example, being conscious of others and being responsible and to help them have a broader view of the world. But really the only way I know to raise them is to really listen,” she continued.
“It’s perhaps the most important thing any parent can do. They are resilient children but they are children, and as much as they need help to understand the hard truths in life they also need what we all need – protection and love.”
The end of Brangelina was the breaking news of last year. Now, the estranged couple seems to be cordial with each other for the sake of their kids.
