Harrison Ford Injured On The Set Of Star Wars

harrison ford mainHarrison Ford had to be airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after being hit by the door of the Millennium Falcon on the set of the latest Star Wars film. The news comes amid fears the actor’s injuries could be worse than previously thought, potentially taking weeks to heal.

Harrison Ford‘s wife, Claista Flockhart, is flying to be at his bedside as the star prepares to spend a fourth day in hospital.

Meanwhile, there were reports that Harrison Ford could have suffered a pelvic injury and may have needed a chest x-ray.

At Pinewood Studios, where the film is being shot, executives are said to be hastily rearranging a tight shooting schedule to fit around Ford’s recovery.

The incident came just days after fans learned the Millennium Falcon Ship that’s being piloted by Ford’s character Han Solo, would appear in the new film. It is believed Harrison Ford was about to start a scene involving the hundred and eleven feet vehicle.

In the meantime, Disney said filming will continue with the rest of the cast as Ford recovers, even if that means rearranging scene schedules. However, its not clear how long Harrison Ford will be missing from the set, but his absence could have a huge effect on the film.

While the actor’s agent refuses to release any details of his condition, one staff member on the specialist unit could not resist tweeting about her star patient.

Harrison Ford will possibly need a plate and screws in his injured ankle. His son, Ben Ford, speculated that director J.J. Abrams would need to shoot the actor from the waist up, when Harrison Ford fully recovers from the injury.

Here’s wishing him a speedy recovery.
