Sunny Pawar, an Indian child star, became a rage at the 89th Academy Awards held on Sunday. The young star made his debut this year, starring as young Saroo Brierley alongside Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman in the biopic Lion.

He wore a miniature tuxedo teamed up with green and black shoes when he walked the red carpet at Oscars and many Hollywood stars couldn’t stop gushing about him, hugging him and clicking selfies.

The pint-sized ‘Lion’ star had his ‘Lion King’ moment when host Jimmy Kimmel picked him up and recreated the famous birth scene from the animated film. Kimmel asked Sunny about his favourite candies and as soon as Sunny gave the answer, the next moment it was raining candies from the sky. The moment was so magical that people couldn’t stop applauding for Sunny.

Nicole Scherzinger was amongst the Hollywood stars who clicked selfies with Sunny. She posted a picture with him on Instagram and wrote: “”This little guy has stolen my heart! #sunnypawar brilliant lit actor from #lion Unbelievable film! It deserves to clean up at the #oscars tonight! @weinsteinco”

Lovely Chrissy Teigen went on to her knees to hug the eight-year-old star while husband John Legend was capturing the moment on his camera.

Sunny was selected amongst 2000 kids who auditioned for the role of young Saroo in Lion.
