HOLLYWOOD: Last night witnessed another superb edition of the MTV Movie Awards. The show was hosted by the very talented and very funny Rebel Wilson who also took home the ‘Breakthrough Performance’ Award for ‘Pitch Perfect’.
The MTV Movie Awards 2013 was filled with our favourite celebs! The event being one of the most laid back award shows in Hollywood our stars always have fun with what they wear at the show. Here’s a look at the hits and misses of this year:
Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence grabbed the ‘Best Male/Female Performance’ and ‘Best Kiss’ for ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. Sadly Jennifer Lawrence was nowhere to be seen, so there was no chance to recreate their “Silver Linings” smooch.
Tom Hiddleston went home with the ‘Best Villan’ Awards for ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’. He also went home with the ‘Best Fight’ award which he shared with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner.
Mark Whalberg and Seth MacFarlane won the ‘Best On-Screen Duo’ for ‘Ted’ while Jamie Foxx went home with the ‘Generation’ Award and ‘Best WTF Moment’ which he shared with Samuel L. Jackson for “Django Unchained”
The MTV Movie Awards 2013 is the only place where you can see Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp,Ester Dean and Hana Mae Lee sing a mash-up of Miley Cyrus, Eminem, Alicia Keys, and Macklemore as they won the ‘Best Musical Moment’ Award for ‘Pitch Perfect’. The performance was exactly the glorious hot mess that description sounds like.
An emotional Emma Watson bagged the Special Trailblazer award: “Becoming yourself is really hard and confusing, and it’s a process. I was the girl in the front of the class who was the first person to put her hand up, and it’s often not cool to be the person who puts themselves out there, and I’ve often gotten teased mercilessly. But I found, ultimately, if you truly pour your heart into what you believe, even if it makes you vulnerable, amazing things can and will happen.”
‘The Avengers’ grabbed the ‘Best Movie’ Award, leaving behind ‘Ted’, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, ‘Django Unchained’ and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’.
Here’s a List of the winners in the rest of the categories:
- Best Scared as S**t Performance: Suraj Sharma, “Life of Pi”
- Best Shirtless Performance: Taylor Lautner, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2
- Best Hero: Bilbo Baggins, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”
