Tom Cruise is currently in talks with director J.J. Abrams for a special role in the most awaited blockbuster Star Wars: Episode VII.
The rumours started gaining momentum after Tom Cruise met up J.J. Abrams at a London hotel to discuss the prospect of the scientologist doing a cameo.
Abrams is keen to get Tom Cruise involved as he loves working with him whenever he gets the chance.
“Tom Cruise has been in London for over a week and met up with J.J. Abrams and some other people from Star Wars over the weekend. On Saturday evening five of them met up for dinner and drinks at the Belgravia Hotel.” stated a source close to the actor.
Referring to the recent injury suffered by Harrison Ford on the sets last week, which will prevent him from returning to the sets for six months as he needs rehab treatment for his left limb that was surgically fixed with a number of metal plates. A film insider said, “Losing Harrison is going to set things back a little scheduling wise and there’s some time to play around with.”
The ensemble cast for the seventh episode that has already begun filming at Pinewood Studios will feature a prominent cast of British actor John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Andy Serkis of the Lord Of The Rings fame, while Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher will reprise their characters of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo respectively from the 1977 movie.
Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams have previously worked together on Mission: Impossible 5.
