MUMBAI: Bravado has entered into an agreement to continue to manufacture and distribute merchandise, for the rock band Nickelback. The announcement was made by Bravado and Nickelback chief executive officer Tom Bennett.

Nickelback; Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and Daniel Adair, has sold over 25 Million records worldwide and is firmly established as one of the most successful tour merchandising acts in the world today. The group, Native to Alberta, Canada, is credited with pioneering the post-grunge sound of the new century.

With the release of its third studio album, 2001’s Silver Side Up, Nickelback came into the mainstream with the hit single "How You Remind Me," earning the band four Grammy nominations and four Juno Awards. The band continued their success with the arrival of The Long Road in 2003, which sold over 5 million copies worldwide while their fifth album, All The Right Reasons, proved to be the most successful, remaining in the Billboard Top 30 for over two years and selling over 7 million copies in the US alone.

With the release earlier this month of their sixth studio album, Dark Horse, Nickelback embarks on its 2009 World Tour commencing in Nashville on February 25th, taking  the band to Australia, Japan, Europe, and all throughout North America. "It’s important in these tough times to be able to trust and count on those who continually step up and look to an artist’s best interest first," commented Nickelback manager, Bryan Coleman.  "Bravado has always done that with Nickelback and we are proud to continue our relationship with them throughout the next cycle!"

"Nickelback is one of the most successful rock bands to emerge in the last decade, and they are exactly the kind of artists we enjoy working with at Bravado.  They are hands-on with us in helping to create merchandise which reflects their style and sound, and appeals to their incredibly broad fan base," stated Bravado CEO Tom Bennett

A&R Senior VP Felix Sebacious said, "Nickelback is an important part of our roster and I am very pleased to have represented their merchandising rights these past 8 years."
