MUMBAI: At this year’s 59th Primetime Emmy Awards competition, HBO has received 21 Primetime Emmy Awards, the most of any network.
Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee topped HBO’s list of winners with six awards, while The Sopranos, When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts and Rome each received three awards.
HBO’s Emmy wins this year include:
* Six Emmys overall for Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, including Outstanding Made for Television Movie, Outstanding Makeup for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Miniseries or a Movie, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Miniseries or a Movie, Outstanding Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special, and Outstanding Cinematography for a Miniseries or Movie.
* Three Emmys overall for The Sopranos, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Alan Taylor), and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (David Chase).
* Three Emmys overall for When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, including Exceptional Merit in Nonfiction Filmmaking, Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming (Spike Lee), and Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming.
* Three Emmys overall for Rome, including Outstanding Hairstyling for a Series, Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series, and Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series.
* Two Emmys overall for Entourage, including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Jeremy Piven) and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half Hour) and Animation.
* One Emmy for Extras: Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Ricky Gervais).
* One Emmy for Deadwood: Outstanding Makeup for a Series (Non-Prosthetic).
* One Emmy for The Addiction Project: Governors Award.
* One Emmy for Ghosts of Abu Ghraib: Outstanding Nonfiction Special.
