MUMBAI: Melissa Roper Barnett has been named senior vice president, networks business affairs, for Home Box Office.
She will report to Home Box Office general counsel and executive vice president, networks business affairs Tom Woodbury and will be responsible for the negotiation of domestic distribution deals for all of HBO’s networks.
"Melissa has been deeply involved in negotiations with HBO’s distributors during her tenure here and brings a wealth of experience to her new role,” said Woodbury.
Barnett joined HBO in 1997 as an associate counsel in Legal, was named senior counsel in 1999, and promoted to vice president & senior counsel, Legal-U.S. Networks in 2001. In 2004, she began a four-year stint working part-time and as a consultant for HBO, and rejoined the company full-time in February 2009 as vice president & senior counsel.
Prior to HBO, Barnett spent five years at Latham & Watkins as a corporate associate.
