Udine Far East Film Fest & Technicolor launch $25,000 in-house post production award

MUMBAI: The Udine Far East Film Festival and Technicolor Asia have inked a new partnership in which Technicolor Asia will present a $25,000 Post Production Award to an Asian director of one of over 60 films screened at the 2011 Festival.

The 13th edition of the Far East Film Festival (FEFF) will run from 29 April – 7 May, 2011.

The Technicolor Asia (TA) facility based in Bangkok, Thailand is part of the larger international Technicolor network. After careful review and short listing of films playing FEFF, Technicolor will present the Award to the Asian director who shows the most promise in being able to do post production work on a future project at TA in Bangkok.

"This award is part of the Technicolor strategy to support the growing Asian movie industry and the passion that the new producers and directors are putting into their movies. This year, we are very impressed by the overall quality of the movies being screened at the festival and the choice will be very difficult for us," said Technicolor Asia managing director Sergio Bosso.

"The tie-up with the international Technicolor network is a real bonus for film makers participating in FEFF. We are delighted that the Technicolor Asia Award will be presented in Europe for the very first time at our event in Udine," said Festival president Sabrina Baracetti.

Winner of the Technicolor Asia Post Production Award will be announced on 7 May, 2011, along with the FEFF Audience Award.
