MUMBAI: Warner/Chappell Music UK has extended its long-term publishing agreement with INXS.
Under the new agreement, the music publisher will administer the worldwide rights to the majority of INXS’ catalogue of songs, which spans the group’s 30 year career and includes global hits such as Need You Tonight, Suicide Blonde, Never Tear Us Apart and Disappear. The agreement also includes master sync rights to all territories ex-US and future compositions.
Warner/Chappell Music UK managing director Richard Manners said, “This agreement signals a new chapter in the long-standing relationship between Warner/Chappell and INXS and we’re delighted to continue working together during the next stage of this celebrated band’s evolution.”
“We’re especially excited about the synchronization potential of the agreement. With its universal lyrical themes, big hooks and punchy arrangements, we believe the INXS catalogue lends itself to a huge range of sync opportunities. We look forward to exploring those with the INXS camp and finding new and creative ways for fans to connect with their songs,” he added.
INXS creative director and global business strategist Chris Murphy added, “For the past decade I have continually searched for new avenues to discover, distribute and market wonderful music. The opportunity to work with one of the most innovative and exciting publishers in the world alongside INXS is an outstanding pleasure for me. The master synch arrangement within the agreement will see INXS songs hit the screens in countries all over the world like never before.”
