This series is a collection of the entire works recorded by Sharma and contains a heady mix of various musical styles.
“Earlier Saregama was privilege of releasing The Complete Work album of Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi a 14 CD pack. It was due to this albums success that we came up with the second series with Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma. The album gives the listener a great insight into the many facets of the music of these legends, and it is Saregama’s humble tribute to these artistes that they are offering the fans and we intend to come up with more such projects in future,” said Saregama India managing director Apurv Nagpal.
This collection of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma’s recordings goes back to the days of the 78 RPM. This set of 18 CDs contains every classical recording done by Sharma for Saregama and covers a span of 43 years [1955 – 1998]. It includes various recordings like solo, Jugalbadis, Dhuns, Thematic, and the Immortal Trio from The Call Of The Valley, Live Concerts & Together playing with his son & disciple Rahul Sharma.
