Gags, Gags and More Gags that make no sense, this is what Mr Joe B. Carvalho the first release of 2014 is all about.

Arshad Warsi (Joe) essays the role of a struggling small-time Bengaluru private detective who is a typical mamma’s boy. Joe’s mother, Himani Shivpuri, wears these hideous polka dotted frocks and dark glasses and bumps into furniture, falls off balconies and terraces and is repeatedly made the butt of laughter, sad but true.

Soha Ali Khan (Shantipriya Phadnis) tries hard to do a Chulbul Pandey La Salman Khan from Dabangg, dons an electric blue two-piece swimsuit and even performs a seduction cabaret number, but all her efforts go down the drain as they were either not required or have no impact and are a force fit.

Jaaved Jaaferi (Carlos) is an international lollypop-sucking terrorist and is armed with a neutron bomb that is placed on a necklace. To make matters worse Jaaved disguises himself in far too many gets ups.

Shakti Kapoor (Khurana) and Ranjeet (Virani) have no other job but to lust on for Joe.

Vijay Raaz (MK) is an underworld don who is and I am not sure what he is up to.

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE:

Joe is on the trail looking for Khurana’s daughter who has supposedly run away with their chef double her age. Now Joe ends up in the terrorist’s hotel room during his search for the runaway daughter and, in the bargain, is mistaken for a killer ending up in a huge confusion. Now this goes on till the climax.

The story of the film is nothing new or unusual, the screenplay is all messed up and lets not talk about the dialogues.

Mr Joe B. Carvalho, directed by first timer Samir Tewari, tries desperately hard to be witty and smart but falls flat on it face.  It’s a silly and an amateurish attempt.

At the end of it, all I can say is, if you really want to waste your money or have an appetite for popcorn then go for the film because this one will really test your patience.
