The Maharashtrian model, born and brought up in Nagpur has an electrical engineering degree and talking about her depressing days, Lopa shared with Rohan that after clearing 4 years of Engineering, she failed in her last year of her studies. She also shared that she was excellent in studies and always topped in her exams but as one of the teachers removed personal grudge on her, she failed in her internal exams only with 1 mark. Lopa was quite depressed that she failed and lost one year of her Engineering.  But when she goes back to the days, she has no regrets as that one year has changed her life because that was the time when she started participating in Miss India and other beauty pageants.
