MUMBAI: Three years after the magnanimous visual-effects spectacle ‘Robot’ hit the screens and superstar Rajinikanth became a rage, the actor comes back in a new avatar with his own daughter Soundarya R.Ashwin’s directorial debut ‘Kochadaiiyan’.
‘Kochadaiiyan’ will also have diva Deepika Padukone making her debut in Tamil cinema with this ambitious, period drama. ‘Kochadaiiyan’ has been extensively filmed using Motion Capture 3D Technology and boasts of high-end graphics designed by Soundarya herself.
The first trailer of ‘Kochadaiiyan’ promises another visual spectacle from Superstar Rajinikanth. The only difference here being the superstar is re-defined as an animated character, playing a double role, one as ‘Kochadaiiyan’ and the other as ‘Rana’.
While one may feel that the Rajinikanth antics may be missing, considering that ‘Kochadaiiyan’ is a live-animation action film, one may be in for a huge surprise.
The Rajini madness is there as much in style and grace like another Rajinikanth film. He walks in style, flies and flips (yes the trademark cigarette is missing), but nevertheless watching the superstar is always a delight.
The trailer begins with a mammoth royal kingdom being revealed, truly epitomized in ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ style. We then see captions, which say, “There are heroes, there are superheroes, but there is only one Rajinikanth!”
Quite summing up the rage that the star has managed to rein amongst his fans. ‘Kochadaiiyan’ trailer shows as much promise and entertainment, like Superstar’s any of previous movies. The trailer has already crossed 1 million mark on You Tube. That’s the prowess of Rainikanth!
Rajinikanth may not be in present physically, but the new avatar surely unleashes the superstar’s super stylish side with aplomb and grandeur. Keenly waiting for the promos and the film to see ‘Rajinikanth’ back in top form!
‘Kochadaiiyan’ produced by Eros International and directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin releases this December. The music for the film has been composed by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman.
