Bollywood’s leading actress Kangana Ranaut who got rave reviews for her film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns‘, failed to impress in her last film ‘Katti Batti’ opposite Imran Khan. The film which was directed by Nikhil Advani, failed to impress the audiences on the silver screen as the film got average ratings.
As we all know Kangana Ranaut who is nowhere stopping to climb her success ladder, makes an intelligent choice before giving a nod for any film. The actress goes through scripts well before saying yes. But the way ‘Katti Batti‘ landed in her kitty was because of Salman Khan according to the actress.
As earlier we had reported that, Kangana had shared about the same during the promotions of ‘Katti Batti‘. The actress had said, “Salman called me to tell me about the script and I am glad that he did that. I was in New York then and after ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ I was flooded with women-centric scripts and that became my priority. So under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have given anything else much of a thought.”
Talking on her bonding with Salman Khan the actress said, “Salman told me that I had to do this film. He is a friend and I trust him. So, when he asked me to hear the script, I agreed. And I absolutely loved the script and ended doing the film.”
But well, Salman Khan has something else to say about the same. Recently during an interview, Salman Khan was asked to comment on Kangana’s statement where she said that she did the film on the star’s insistence. To which he replied, “Sab log mere naam ke bill faado (everyone takes my name just for the sake of it).”
“I had told Kangana that he (Nikhil) was willing to narrate a script and she should go hear it out. If someone tells me to hear something, I will do it. But I will accept it only if I like it. And I didn’t approach Nikhil to take up ‘Hero’. It was his understanding and his decision to do it. I only had my lead pair — Athiya (Shetty) and Sooraj (Pancholi),” stated Salman.
Well, it seems Salman Khan is in no interest to take any credits from anyone!
