Watch: Amitabh Bachchan Speaks Up On Maggi Controversy


Bollywood actors Madhuri Dixit, Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan have been given a legal notice for endorsing most loved product Maggi. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan against who court has registered an FIR for endorsing Maggi finally spoke on it during the screening of his upcoming film Wazir.

Amitabh Bachchan who has been warned of action by Government for promoting the misleading product said, “I have not received any notice. As soon as I will get it, I will put it up to my lawyers and we will fully cooperate with the law.”

“I have stopped endorsing Maggi two years ago. I don’t endorse Maggi anymore now. That happened two years ago. So, I have not been associated with the product,” he added.

Maggi is a product by multinational company nestle who is currently facing a credibility crisis. Lucknow based Food Safety and Drug Administration collected some samples of Maggi from some parts of UP and have found dangerous level of lead in the product. FDSA said that Maggi samples were found containing excess of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead than permissible limit.

Also actress Madhuri Dixit who is seen in Maggi advertisement has been asked to respond to the legal notice within 15 days of notice issued.

Actress Preity Zinta has been also dragged into Maggi controversy tweeted, “Reading the news about me being sued for doing the Maggie commercial over 12 years ago ? 12 years ago ? How does that happen ?

As suggested by experts and advisers the product is harmful for children and for time being the endorsement of the brand has been asked to stop and also shopkeepers have been asked to pull down product from selling.
