Gaurang Shah – LFW Summer/Resort 2012
Gaurang Shah's label, "Gaurang" charmed all with its stunning collection which was based around morphology of flowers. Soft yet practical fabrics such as cottons, khadi and organza helped build the feminine silhouettes; with many of them being the main focus of his collection as they flowed down gracefully to ankle-length, whilst see-through fabrics worked their elegance on his pieces. The spotlight was on the delicate work and the line showcased many saris with western cuts, skirts, tops, as well as dresses. Gaurang Shah kept his collection's colour palette to shades of white which were accentuated with pink, peach, green, pastel violet for solid coloured designs. These highlighted the symbols such as mango leaves, lotuses, hibiscus and lilies, which were used on the ensembles to depict the beauty of nature's blooming flowers. Persian embroidery added richness to the collection along with silver sequins and gold embroidery. Truly awe-inspiring, Gaurang Shah's collection set the runway ablaze.
