Nupur Kanoi – LFW Summer/Resort 2012
The title of her collection gave her Indo-western line the right impact. "Kundalini Project" inspired by the Vedic Indian symbolism from Nupur Kanoi was an imaginative line of clothing to suit the coming season. Weaving her creative story around white and blue, with the former colour depicting spirituality; Nupur's Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 look, had the background of rich crafts around the world with lots of embroidery and surface detailing. There was a pleasant mix of contemporary and traditional fashion statements that created a contrasting medley but still gelled beautifully on the ramp. Using fabric tapes as a constant embellishment, Nupur created geometric patterns which acted as surface decoration for all the garments. The tonal blue tape jacket with a georgette godet zipped inner was stylish, the chiffon vest with miniature pockets and the double layered zipped vest with overlap mini pockets, the off white georgette playsuit and the intricately crafted knot waist coat were studies in great workmanship. The checkerboard organza tail waistcoat made a great fashion statement and the final maxi with tape epaulets on hem was a stunning end to a great show.
