Aurora owners acquire Sivaji rights for Bombay

MUMBAI: Owners Nambi and Rajan of Aurora cinema at King’s Circle, Mumbai, have acquired the Bombay circuit rights of the Rajnikant starrer Sivaji: The Boss.


The film has been directed by S Shankar, who has directed films like Nayak and Jeans. Hollywood action director Peter Heinz has done the action sequences for this film.


Says Rajan, “We have got the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film for the Bombay circuit. The film is now slated for a 15 June release all over. We are still deciding on the number of prints to be released.”


Aurora Cinema, one of the oldest cinemas in Mumbai, has a seating strength of 700 people with a capacity of grossing Rs 8,83, 590.40 from 28 shows.


According to the buzz doing the rounds, the Tamil Nadu rights of the film have been acquired for Rs 31 million (Rs 3.10 crore), Kerala for Rs 31 million (Rs 3.10 crore), Nizam for Rs 65 million (Rs 6.5 crore) , Andhra Pradesh for Rs 160 million (Rs 16 crore) and Karnataka for Rs 25 million (Rs 2.5 crore). Recently, Pyramid acquired the territory of Nizam for Rs 66 million (Rs 6.6 crore).
