BO: Wanted nets 175 mn; Dil Bole Hadippa business at Rs 115 mn

MUMBAI: The opening weekend box office numbers of Wanted and Dil Bole Hadippa (DBH) are in. While Wanted has done a net business of approximately Rs 175 million (Rs 17.50 crore) in India, Yash Raj Films’ Dil Bole Hadippa’s domestic net collections stand at Rs 115 million (Rs 11.50 crore).

As was earlier reported by Businessofcinema.com, while Wanted did good business at single screens, DBH did a decent show at multiplexes but failed to pull audience in single screens.

According to information available with Businessofcinema.com, Wanted is expected to do a net business of Rs 300 million (Rs 30 crore) in its first week run in India, whereas DBH has the potential of netting Rs 210 million (Rs 21 crore) domestically in week 1.

With the long weekend ending with the Eid festivities on Monday, there is likely to be a steep drop in collections from Tuesday onwards. Nonetheless, Wanted is likely to do decent business in Muslim populated areas in India (B and C centers) post Eid. However, a good run in only the single screens is not going to be enough for Wanted.
