Mumbai: Cinemagoers are eagerly waiting to get the first glimpse of the much awaited new chapter in Munnabhai’s life, Lage Raho Munnabhai. The film is set to
release on 1 September 2006 but the cinema halls are already inundated with mounting enquiries for block bookings for the film.
Considering advances in multiplexes open only on 30 August, Wednesday,
before the film’s release, Fame Adlabs, Mumbai has already got the first 13 shows housefull even without the advances starting.
The bookings for these
shows have been done through internet and SMS booking services. Incidentally
the film is being distributed by Shringar Films in the Bombay territory on a 20 per cent basis. A similar trend had been observed in Bangalore multiplexes. Instead of opening the advance booking on three days prior, the exhibitors changed the regular pattern.
They have opened the bookings for the film, three weeks in advance. The comic caper stars Sanjay Dutt yet again in the lead role as the good hearted goon Munnabhai supported by Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Jimmy Shergill. The new chapter has the talented Vidya Balan in the female lead along with Diya Mirza in a supporting role. Lage Raho Munnabhai is not a sequel but another episode in the life of Munna and Circuit and their experiments with truth.
