MUMBAI:The Sahara group’s movie channel Filmy marked the completion of a year recently with the launch of two new properties.
The channel also announced the name of Hrithik Roshan as the Filmy Person of the Year 2006. The nominess for the Person of the Year included Aamir Khan, Himesh Reshammiya, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
According to Filmy business head Ashutosh, “Through this award, we wanted to showcase and recognise the holistic contribution of an individual who has had the maximum impact in 2006. Hrithik Roshan polled 27 per cent votes to win the award.”
The channel’s anthem ‘Maa Kasam FILMY Hai!’ was also released at the party. The song, says a company release, has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar, penned by Javed Akhtar, and sung by Kunal Ganjawala.
The channel began its second year with the launch of a spoof show ‘ Kaun Banega Champu’ on 11 February, that will air each Sunday at 7.30 pm. Sunil Grover, who plays Lallan, in other shows on the channel, will play the KBC host ‘Ruk Ruk Khan’. Suresh Menon, who accompanies him on the ‘pot seat’, will play assorted celebrity contestants.
