Hrithik Roshan to star in Vishal Bharadwaj’s next film

MUMBAI: Hrithik Roshan, who is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, Guzaarish in Goa, has given the green signal to director Vishal Bharadwaj.

The actor, who shoots for only one film at a time, will star in Bharadwaj’s next film, which is slated to begin in June 2010. Post his shooting for Guzaarish, Hrithik will start campaigning to promote his home production, Kites.

Hrithik, sitting relaxed in his make up van while his hair dresser was fixing his long tresses, tells Businessofcinema.com "I have committed to Vishal Bharadwaj. I will start his film in June 2010. So, Vishal has a lot of time to prepare for his film."

Hrithik has had little success with the big guns of Bollywood. He has worked with directors like Subhash Ghai, Sooraj Barjatiya, Kunal Kohli and Vikram Bhatt, but none of those films made any impact with the audiences. An industry watcher said, "Hrithik did those films but it never explored his talent as an actor. It is father who has created some special roles for him, where Hrithik could experiment with his histrionics as well as his physical capabilities. It is all about taking a risk and Rakesh Roshan was hugely successful with all his films with Hrithik, be it Koi Mil Gaya or Krissh."

Today the actor is doubly careful before signing on the dotted line, limiting his films to a select few. And Hrithik is certainly eyeing Hollywood but in a discreet manner. Perhaps, that’s why he started with his home production, Kites to get into the hallowed gates of the world’s most famous film industry.
