MUMBAI: Global digital content services group Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) has appointed Ganesh Sankaran as chief operating officer (COO).

Based in Bangalore and reporting to Prime Focus Technologies, Founder President & CEO Ramki Sankaranarayanan, Sankaran will oversee R&D, technology development and service delivery operations for all PFT’s worldwide locations, whilst helping to scale the operation, enhance product and service lines and build deeper relationships with clients.

As co-founder and vice-president, Sankaran has been behind a number of the company’s most impressive achievements, including the development of CLEAR, the world’s first ‘hybrid cloud’ multi-platform content operations solution, and building CLEAR Live, which enables delivery of Video on Demand packages from live video feeds to web and mobile in seconds & minutes (which was used during IPL 2010 tournament).

“Ganesh’s leadership has shaped the CLEAR platform from the very start. Having built a platform that will suit every content owner’s needs, in the new role Ganesh will lead the effort of working closely with clients and help transform their content operations to drive the multi-platform opportunities. I am looking forward to working even more closely with him to help PFT reach some exciting goals during the coming years,” said Sankaranarayanan.

“PFT is a very forward thinking and ambitious company. Our vision from the very beginning has been to build a platform which is unmatched. What we have today is a very complete and yet flexible platform to meet the content and related workflow requirements of the media industry. As multi-platform is becoming the focus for content owners worldwide, CLEAR is completely geared to handle the related content operations, from production to delivery and preservation. I am extremely excited about the way forward,” added Sankaran.
