TLC to produce new series with Lisa Ray

MUMBAI: TLC will present a new series with fashion model and actor, Lisa Ray.  To be produced by TLC in India, the series will premiere in 2011 and will be set against the cultural yet contemporary backdrop of India.  Lisa will play both a host and a travel guide.

India Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific senior vice president and general manager Rahul Johri said, “With a dynamic personality, Lisa Ray will add great value to this incisive, entertaining, and informative tour. This programme is an ingenious attempt to offer unique content and fresh format to TLC viewers.”

Johri added, “TLC has always set highest benchmarks in programming by creating compelling lifestyle programmes that highlight India’s uniqueness through its exemplary productions like Living With A Superstar – Shah Rukh Khan, Adventures or a Ladies Tailor, Vir Sanghvi’s Asian Diary, Indian Rendezvous and the Great Indian Wedding.  Taking this trend further, the new series, is an attempt to push our creative frontiers to showcase the uniqueness of India. It will capture the essence of unconventional travel on a much larger scale and will surprise our viewers.”

To be shot on location in some of India’s, this programme will explore the aspects of Indian culture. Based on each city’s unique character and cultural background, Ray will personalise her tour of the city.  

The series is currently under production and will air on TLC in India as well as other international markets. Blue Mango Films has been commissioned to produce the series.
