Uday Shankar is new Star India COO

MUMBAI: Media Content and Communications Services (MCCS) Chief Executive Officer Uday Shankar has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Star India. 


Shankar will oversee the company’s overall operations, reporting to Paul Aiello, Star India chief executive officer, says an official announcment. Shankar joined MCCS in February 2004.  MCCS is a 74-26 joint venture between Ananda Bazar Patrika Group (ABP) and the Star Group that operates Hindi news channel Star News and Bengali news channel Star Ananda.


Prior to joining MCCS, Shankar was the editor and news director at India Today, launching channels Aaj Tak and Headlines Today. Prior to that, he launched the news division of Sahara TV.
