MUMBAI: The first look of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi-6, which is being co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Mehra, was unveiled the at the Dubai International Film Festival.
In attendance were the movie’s cast comprising Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor along with Mehra and UTV Motion Pictures CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Mehra spoken on the key influences and theme of the film. The actors described their experience of working with Mehra. The audience was shown a glimpse of the teaser theatrical trailer slated to be in theatres later this month as well as a longer "first look" of scenes and music from the film. The movie is slated to release on 20 February, 2009.
The film follows American-born Roshan (Bachchan), who brings his ailing grandmother back to India. Little does he know that the quick trip will turn into the longest journey of his life – a journey within. The backdrop of the story is the ancient walled city of Delhi, a character in herself. She represents the chaos, religion, beliefs and ethos of the Indian people. The pin code of the city is 110006, and with pride of love they call her Delhi-6.
