MUMBAI: Zee TV is bringing back a new season of Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge.
Sub-titled “Sangeet ka pratham vishwa-yudh”, the show will have participants from all over the world – Asia, Africa, America and Europe, says a release. Five of these are from neighbouring Pakistan.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 will be a musical reality show that extends beyond just the participants, and will be a contest between four music directors. 32 contestants selected from across four continents and six countries, will compete with each other under the guidance of the four mentors. The mentors enter the battlefield armed with their respective teams in the quest to find the deserving winners.
The new season launches on 4 May 2007 and will be aired on Friday and Saturdays.
This season’s mentors (maha-yodhas) are Himmesh Reshammiya, Ismail Darbar, Vishal and Shekhar and Bappi Lahiri.
Says Zee’s business head Punit Goenka, “After having established properties like Challenge 2005 and Lil Champs, it was time to raise the bar. Not only do we have mentors, who have between them, given some huge hits to the music industry in the recent years, we have chosen talent from six countries. The participants are a prime example of talent not being hampered by geographical borders, of talent not having a religion.”
