Bombay Velvet: Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor Can’t Stop Laughing!

Ranbir Kapoor is quite used to seeing Karan Johar behind the camera than facing it. But it’s the first time he is sharing screen space with the multi-talented director for Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’. At the first schedule in Sri Lanka, both Ranbir and Karan were in constant splits while rehearsing and shooting their lines.

SRI LANKA: The first schedule of ‘Bombay Velvet’ is underway. But looks like Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar are in no serious mode. While the former is used to see Karan more behind the camera, it’s the first time Karan Johar is facing the same.

And this has resulted in endless laughter on the sets. Ranbir Kapoor is getting used to rehearsing dialogues with friend Karan Johar. While Karan Johar has effortlessly managed to pull his negative character off in the initial scenes of ‘Bombay Velvet’, each time a dialogue is mouthed; Ranbir can’t shy away from laughing.

Instead of getting embarrassed even Karan Johar seems to have joined in the fun. The real truth is, both Karan and Ranbir are getting used to each other as actors. Karan has been a producer for Ranbir’s last few films ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Wake Up Sid’. But this time the equation is completely different. The talented duo are playing villain and hero respectively.

The laughter could also be a result of Karan Johar’s dapped hair look. But in all this bursts of laughter, where is director Anurag Kashyap?

Incidentally it is reported that Anurag, otherwise known to be a serious guy on sets, also has joined in with the duo. It’s all chuckles on the sets of ‘Bombay Velvet’. Looks like lady-lead from the film, Anushka Sharma will too join in soon.

‘Bombay Velvet’ is a period drama set at a time when Bombay became a metropolis. It’s for the first time we will be seeing Karan Johar playing a negative character and Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of a street-fighter. It can’t get interesting than this.

For now it looks like there isn’t a dull moment at all on the sets of ‘Bombay Velvet’. It’s just time to get funny until Anurag Kashyap gets angry and packs up!
