EXCLUSIVE: Bank Chor Producer Ashish Patil REVEALS About The Marketing Strategy That Will Surprise You!

Bank Chor has got a lot in store apart from the main film!

The song, Lag Gayi Tashreef from the film Bank Chor has been released today. It is real madness and you would totally relate to it if your tashreef has been taken by someone or something. But there is still a lot more on its way to add to the craziness of this comedy-thriller film.

Business Of Cinema exclusively talked to Ashish Patil, the Producer of Bank Chor to know about how is it going to be different than other films. He showed us some of the promotional clips and talked about how he has experimented with the marketing style.

Talking about the insane comedy that the film has, he says, “The closest reference I can think of is Deadpool. It’s very laughing at yourself.”

We have already shown you all the ‘Chori Ke Posters’ which the Bank Chors had stolen. Those included the posters of films like Tubelight, Dangal, Wanted, Ra. One, Dilwale Dulaniya Le Jayenge, La La Land, Jaws and many others. There are actually about 30 of them.

The producer also talked about how before the release of the film, the team is coming up with several other things like Trailer mashups. This is similar to the Chori Ke Posters, but here they have stolen the trailers of the films. There is also this talk show Bakwas with Bank Chor, which has guests like Jacqueline Fernandez, Abhishek Bachchan and even Donald Trump.

This is something different from what the Bollywood industry has been doing to promote their films. Ashish Patil says, “Even if you have a great content, the main task is to get people in. For this film, you will notice that the marketing is slightly left of centre.”

He adds on saying, “Starting with the trailer, songs, some dialogue promos, interviews, promotions on reality shows and talent hunt shows and then it’s over. I don’t think that’s enough now. People expect some amount of madness from Y Films, especially looking at the kind of material that we have been doing, right from our web series to our past films.”

Speaking on how the film has got a twist, he says, “If you loved the trailer, then you are going to get more than what you expect from the film. You will come to watch the film for a timepass, but you will be surprised saying, “Are ye bhi hai!” (Oh this is also there).”

Directed by Bumpy and produced by Y Films, the film is all set to hit the theatres on June 16, this year.
