Emraan Hashmi’s ambitious project biopic Azhar is in news highlights today for the launch of its first look. The actor who has proved his acting skills in all his movies will be portraying the role of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. The cricketer was a former captain of the Indian cricket team.
Emraan will be playing the main protagonist in the film. Prachi Desai who has worked with Emraan in the hit film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai will be playing the role of his wife, Naureen in the biopic. The biopic will center on Azharuddin’s personal as well professional controversies including his well-sensationalized link ups. The cricketer was also accused of match fixing and went through many other mishaps.
The movie will also share the tale of cricketer’s affair with actress Sangeeta Bijlani. The character portraying her is still not announced. Rumors are that, Jacqueline Fernandez has been approached for playing the role of Sangeeta Bijlani but no confirmation on the same has been made.
Apparently, Azhrauddin’s life is filled with twists and turns, and the same will reflect in the movie too. The project Azhar is helmed by Ekta Kapoor and is being directed by Tony D’Souza. The movie will hit the screens next year i.e. May 13.
The first look of the film appears to be interesting and pleasing, hope the audience enjoys this movie and Emraan proves his worth yet again!
