Irrfan Khan Opens Up About Choosing Hollywood Over Bollywood

Irrfan Khan who is one of the few actors to make a successful transition from Bollywood to Hollywood expressed his viewpoint by discussing how Hollywood is a bigger playground according to him and the large-scale opportunities offered by the Hollywood industry. In a recent interview Irrfan discusses what draws the actor towards the Hollywood industry.

Talking about the potential provided by the industry Irrfan Khan states, “It’s not just a bigger playground but it gives you a chance to work on your craft in a much more fine manner. It gives you a chance to act in a much more personal way. It requires you to dive deep inside their story. That kind of opportunities you sometimes don’t get everywhere. So I’m looking for those kind of opportunities where they can stretch me and challenge me as an actor and where I can evolve as an actor.”

The Piku actor further added by talking about the great directors he has worked with and how that experience has been different from all the other times. “I’ve worked with directors who are world class and they throw a different kind of challenges in front of you when you are dealing with their stories. They’ve conceived the character in a certain way and you’ve conceived the character in a certain way and then how you interact and collaborate is a completely different experience.”

Looks like the actor has become quite accustomed to the Hollywood ways! Irrfan Khan who will soon be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku releasing on May 8th has done numerous Hollywood films and is best known for his roles in the films Slumdog Millionaire, The Amazing Spiderman and Life of Pi. He has also done films like The Namesake, A Mighty Heart, New York, The Darjeeling Limited, Hisss and New York, I Love You. He will soon be seen in Jurassic World set to release on June 10. Irrfan is also working on a major Hollywood project named Inferno starring Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones.
