MUMBAI: Looks like after ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Krrish 3’ will be the one to hit it big! ‘Krrish 3’ has earned 16 million views online so far. The film to come in second place with most views online is ‘Chennai Express’, and even that has halted on 10.2 million views.
As everyone knows, online buzz for a film is a great indicator of whether it will do well at the box office or not.
Karan Johar said that a trailer “is the most important and is 75% of your opening weight. It is the first visual of the film, sets its tone and is the imagery that sticks. The trailer combined with the first song unit is 90% of your work and can take the film to another level.”
He goes on to explain, “With ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, the trailer was nice, but it was a bit like been there, done that feeling, but ‘Badtameez Dil’ did it. So sometimes if your trailer doesn’t, your first song has to.”
For the ‘Krrish 3’ trailer, the selling points were that Hrithik Roshan was returning to the big screen after more than a year. Moreover, it was a sequel to ‘Krrish’, a surefire hit in the superhero genre – a genre that is still young in India. Add to that the visuals and the villains in Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut, the film has managed huge buzz.
Will that buzz translate to a good box office showing when ‘Krrish 3’ releases on 3 November? We do think so. It is after all Diwali season and kids and parents alike would want to take a cinema break on the holidays. Also being the sole Diwali release, ‘Krrish 3’ will have maximum screens to itself.
This Diwali, it looks like ‘Krrish 3’ will be bursting firecrackers on the silver screen.
