Bollywood actress Richa Chadda has apparently been roped in to play the role of Sarabjit Singh’s wife in the upcoming biopic. The actress will once again be paired opposite actor Randeep Hooda who will be portraying the role of Sarabjit Singh in the film. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be essaying the role of Hooda’s sister that is Dalbir Kaur in the film. Richa who was eyed for this role has revealed that she is in talks for the same.
Richa Chadda and Randeep Hooda are currently gearing up for the release of their film ‘Main aur Charles’. The duo shares great chemistry on screen and it will be interesting to see them together once again in Omung Kumar’s Sarabjit biopic. Richa revealed that the filmmakers have approached her for a role and that she will be doing it. However, at this point of time legalities and paper work is being done so the actress chose to not comment anything more.
However, she confirmed that it’s true that she has been offered the role to play Randeep’s wife. Richa Chadda revealed that she will sign on the dotted lines soon. It’s an interesting role according to the actress and she can’t wait to talk more on the same. After her recently successful film Masaan that won accolades at Cannes Film Festival 2015, Richa Chadda has blown up as an important part of Bollywood. Her roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur have been commended by audience as well as critics.
The biopic is based on Sarabjit Singh’s life who was an Indian farmer. He was caught by the Pakistani officials and convicted for being a spy and conspiring terrorism. He was sentenced to death, and was later slain when in captivity at Lahore jail in April 2013. With a star studded cast of actors with immense caliber, we cannot wait to know about this biopic.
